Honoring the past and strengthening our future is one of the strong feelings expressed at today’s celebration to mark the completion of Halifax Regional Health System’s merger with Sentara Healthcare. More than 150 medical staff members, staff, volunteers and guests joined the event.
Halifax Regional Health System has been a gem serving the health needs of its South Boston community for 60 years, another milestone it marks this year.
It’s only fitting for Lucien Roberts, MD, who served on the medical staff at Halifax Regional Hospital for nearly four decades, to participate in today’s ceremony. He helped make official the joining of these two organizations with a shared reading of a proclamation with his granddaughters, Virginia and Talley.
Dr. Roberts a long-time OB/GYN who has brought new life into the South Boston community for years represents the solid foundation of health care services offered through Halifax Regional Health System. The youth of his granddaughters represents the promise of the future by joining Halifax Regional Health System with Sentara.
Halifax Regional Health System officially joined Sentara July 1, with the completion of the merger.
